Matt Barnwell of IH Solutions to Speak on Gamechangers Panel

ARE Expo 2026 will welcome Matt Barnwell, Managing Director of IH Solutions, to the seminar programme, where he will bring his extensive experience in hospitality and leisure to a panel exploring the role of technology and gaming in modern venues.

Matt will be speaking on Wednesday 29th April at 11:00am in the Amusement Network seminar section, as part of the panel:

What Tech and Gaming Can Do for Your Venue

Moderated by Jade Craig of Inntegra and Gamechangers, the session will also feature contributions from Neil Westwater of Polaris & Chris Hart, Singpods —bringing together a strong mix of operational, technical and commercial expertise.

An Operator’s Perspective on a Changing Market

With more than 20 years’ experience across the UK’s family entertainment, pub and nightlife sectors, Matt Barnwell has built a reputation for delivering practical, operator-led insight into what makes venues succeed.

Having started his career on the frontline while studying law, Matt progressed through senior roles across bowling centres, nightclubs, restaurants and entertainment venues. This hands-on background continues to shape his approach today, combining operational understanding with a clear view of how technology, food and beverage, and guest experience must work together.

Now, through IH Solutions, he advises operators and investors on everything from concept development and systems architecture to team training and profitability modelling—helping businesses create venues that drive both footfall and spend.

Exploring the Power of Competitive Socialising

The panel will focus on one of the most important trends shaping the sector: competitive socialising.

As venues increasingly look to differentiate themselves through experience-led offers, the integration of gaming, technology and hospitality has become central to success. Matt’s work in this space —supporting both independent operators and large leisure groups—positions him perfectly to speak on how to create environments where games, food, drink and social interaction come together seamlessly.

Attendees can expect a discussion that goes beyond theory, offering practical insights into how technology can enhance dwell time, improve customer flow and ultimately increase revenue.

A Session Not to Miss

With contributions from across the sector, What Tech and Gaming Can Do for Your Venue promises to be a valuable session for operators looking to evolve their offer and better understand how to align technology with customer expectations.

As with all ARE Expo seminars, the focus is on real-world application and actionable ideas—ensuring that visitors leave with insights they can put into practice immediately.

Join us on Wednesday 29th April at 11:00am in the Amusement Network seminar area.
